  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in egg yolk and vanilla until combined.
  4. Combine Flour and Salt: Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Shape Cookies: For piped cookies, transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and pipe shapes onto prepared baking sheets. For shaped cookies, roll dough into 1-inch balls and flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  6. Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool and Serve: Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
