  • 2 cups walnut halves
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Skillet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, water, butter, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Cook the Mixture: Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture begins to bubble. Add the walnuts and cook, stirring constantly, for 5–7 minutes until the nuts are evenly coated and the syrup thickens and starts to crystallize.
  3. Finish and Cool: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Immediately spread the walnuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Let cool completely before serving or storing.
