  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Ice Cream Base:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Blueberry Compote: In a saucepan, cook blueberries, 1/4 cup sugar, and lemon juice until thickened. Cool completely.
  2. Mix Ice Cream Base: Whisk remaining sugar, cream, milk, vanilla, and salt. Stir in blueberry compote. Chill for 2 hours.
  3. Churn Ice Cream: Using an ice cream maker, churn the mixture for 20–25 minutes. Freeze until firm.

Notes
