  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar

Cream Cheese Layer:

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)

Blackberry Gelatin Topping:

  • 1 package (6 oz) blackberry gelatin (or 2 boxes of 3 oz)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries (plus extra for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Pretzel Crust: Combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press into a baking dish and bake for 10 minutes.
  3. Make the Cream Cheese Layer: Beat cream cheese until smooth, mix in powdered sugar, then fold in the whipped topping. Spread over the cooled crust.
  4. Prepare the Gelatin Topping: Dissolve blackberry gelatin in boiling water, stir in fresh blackberries, and pour over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set. Garnish with additional blackberries before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese layer fully covers the crust to prevent sogginess.
  • For a smoother topping, use seedless blackberry preserves instead of whole fruit.
  • The dessert can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge.
