1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough
For the Sausage Gravy:
1lb breakfast sausage
1 packet (about 2.75 oz) country gravy mix (plus water as directed)
For the Egg Mixture:
6 large eggs
1/2cup milk
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
Additional:
1cup shredded cheddar cheese
Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Cut the biscuit dough into quarters and spread evenly in the bottom of the dish.
Cook Sausage: In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease if needed and set aside.
Prepare Gravy: Prepare the gravy mix according to the package directions. Once thickened, stir the cooked sausage into the gravy.
Mix Eggs: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the biscuit pieces in the baking dish.
Assemble and Bake: Spoon the sausage gravy mixture over the eggs, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Bake for 35–40 minutes until set.
Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired.
Notes
This casserole can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
For a spicier version, use hot sausage or add red pepper flakes to the gravy.
