Scale
For the Cake:
1 box devil’s food cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
For the Topping:
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 jar (12 ounces) caramel sauce
1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
1/2cup toffee bits or crushed Heath bars
Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Prepare and bake the devil’s food cake according to the package directions.
Poke Holes and Add Milk: Remove the baked cake from the oven, let it cool for 5 minutes, then poke holes all over the top. Slowly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the warm cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
Drizzle Caramel: Drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the cake and let it cool completely at room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Add Topping: Once chilled, spread the whipped topping over the cake and sprinkle with toffee bits. Serve chilled.
Notes
For extra indulgence, consider adding a drizzle of chocolate syrup or layering crushed Oreos before the whipped topping.
This cake tastes even better when left to chill overnight.
