- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to blend flavors.
- Add cooked macaroni to the beef mixture and stir to combine evenly.
- If using, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and stir until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot, garnished with parsley if desired.
