  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Noodle Mixture:

  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned. Drain excess fat. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Cook the Noodles: Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain.
  3. Make the Noodle Mixture: In a bowl, combine sour cream, cream cheese, and green onions. Add cooked noodles and stir to coat.
  4. Assemble the Casserole: In a greased baking dish, layer noodles, beef mixture, and cheese. Repeat layers. Bake covered, then uncovered until bubbly and golden.
  5. Serve: Let rest before serving.
