Cookies:
1/2cup unsalted butter (softened)
1/2cup granulated sugar
1/2cup packed brown sugar
1/2cup creamy peanut butter
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Toppings:
24 chocolate kisses (unwrapped)
72 mini chocolate chips (for claws)
24 large candy eyes
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter until smooth and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
Shape and bake: Scoop dough into 1-tablespoon-sized balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten slightly with your fingers or the bottom of a glass. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Add toppings: Remove from oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. While still warm, press two candy eyes above the kiss and place three mini chocolate chips at the bottom edge of the cookie to resemble bear claws.
Cool and serve: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
If dough is sticky, chill for 20 minutes before baking.
Use different chocolates or nut butters for a fun twist.
Perfect for themed parties or kids’ baking projects.
