  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the banana pudding layer:

  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant banana pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For topping:

  • 1/2 cup crushed vanilla wafers
  • whipped topping or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix brownie batter: Whisk together melted butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Pour into pan and bake for 20–24 minutes.
  3. Prepare pudding layer: Whisk pudding mix and milk until thickened. Beat cream cheese until smooth, then add pudding mixture and vanilla.
  4. Assemble: Spread pudding over cooled brownies, sprinkle with vanilla wafers, and chill for 2 hours.
  5. Serve: Top with whipped cream if desired before slicing and serving.
