Indulge in these delightful Baklava Bites, a mini version of the classic dessert made with phyllo shells filled with a nut mixture, baked to perfection, and drizzled with a sweet honey syrup.

For the Nut Mixture:

  • 1 package mini phyllo shells (about 15 shells)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup pistachios, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup almonds, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Honey Syrup:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

For Garnish:

  • Extra chopped pistachios

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the mini phyllo shells on a baking sheet.
  2. Prepare Nut Mixture: In a bowl, mix walnuts, pistachios, almonds, sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Fill each phyllo shell with about 1 tablespoon of the nut mixture.
  3. Bake: Bake for 10 minutes until nuts are toasted and shells are golden.
  4. Make Honey Syrup: In a saucepan, combine honey, water, and lemon juice. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  5. Drizzle and Garnish: Drizzle warm honey syrup over the baked bites and garnish with chopped pistachios. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can prepare the nut mixture ahead of time and assemble just before baking.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
