4 slices sourdough or multigrain bread
Avocado Spread:
1 ripe avocado (mashed)
1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon butter (softened)

Instructions
Prepare Avocado Spread: In a small bowl, mash the avocado with lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until creamy.
Assemble Sandwiches: Butter one side of each bread slice. Spread the avocado mixture onto the unbuttered side of two slices. Top each with cheese and any desired add-ins, then place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered side facing out.
