Prawns:

  • 1 1/2 pounds large prawns, peeled and deveined with tails on

Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce (such as sambal oelek)
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Garnish:

  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 fresh red chili, thinly sliced (optional)
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, chili sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Prawns: Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds. Add the prawns, cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink. Pour the sauce over the prawns, stir to coat, and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  3. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with green onions, chili slices, and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
