4 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Fuji), peeled, cored, and sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4cup maple syrup or honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
For the topping:
3/4cup old-fashioned oats
1/2cup white whole wheat flour
1/3cup natural peanut butter
1/4cup maple syrup or honey
2 tablespoons coconut oil or butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
Prepare the apples: Toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, maple syrup or honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly in the prepared dish.
Make the topping: In a separate bowl, mix oats, whole wheat flour, peanut butter, maple syrup or honey, melted coconut oil or butter, and salt until crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
