1cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2cup sliced almonds
1/2cup powdered sugar
1–2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon almond extract (for glaze)
Instructions

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and almond extract; mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
Sprinkle sliced almonds evenly over the top and gently press them into the dough.
Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Let cool completely in the pan.
In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract to make the glaze. Drizzle over cooled bars.
Cut into squares or bars and serve.
