Air Fryer Yogurt Custard Toast

A creamy, tangy custard-style spread on crisp air‑fried toast—sweetened Greek yogurt meets custard for a delightful quick breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 slices of thick-cut bread (sourdough or brioche work well)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (whole or 2%)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (plus extra for topping)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh berries or sliced fruit, for serving (optional)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, egg, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth and well combined.
  3. Lightly toast bread slices in air fryer or toaster until just golden—about 2 minutes, then remove.
  4. Place toasted bread slices in the air fryer basket or tray in a single layer.
  5. Evenly spoon or spread the yogurt custard mixture over each slice, covering the surface.
  6. Air-fry for 6–8 minutes at 350°F, until the custard is set and edges begin to brown slightly.
  7. Carefully remove toast; let cool for 1–2 minutes.
  8. Top with fresh berries or sliced fruit, dust with powdered sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
  9. Serve warm immediately as a creamy, tangy breakfast or snack.

Notes

  • Use full‑fat Greek yogurt for a richer custard texture.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste—add more honey or a dash of brown sugar.
  • Gluten‑free or dairy‑free options: use GF bread and plant‑based yogurt.
  • For added crunch, sprinkle chopped nuts or granola on top just before serving.
  • Custard mixture can be prepared a few hours ahead and refrigerated until ready.
