Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (Texas toast or brioche)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (or oil)
  • 1/4 cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut bread slices into 3–4 strips each to form sticks.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, 2 tbsp sugar, vanilla, and 1 tsp cinnamon.
  4. Dip each bread strip in the mixture, coating evenly; let excess drip off.
  5. Brush or spray each stick with melted butter or oil.
  6. Arrange sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket (do not overcrowd).
  7. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
  8. Meanwhile, mix ¼ cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  9. Remove sticks from air fryer and immediately toss in the cinnamon sugar coating.
  10. Serve warm with maple syrup or fruit dip.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale bread for better texture and less sogginess.
  • You can spray with nonstick cooking spray instead of butter for a lighter version.
  • Adjust cinnamon sugar ratio to taste.
  • Sticks can be kept warm in a 200°F oven if cooking in batches.
