Description

Festive and colorful cupcakes perfect for celebrating the 4th of July, featuring vibrant firework-inspired decorations and a delicious vanilla base.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • Red, white, and blue food coloring
  • 1 batch vanilla buttercream frosting
  • Sprinkles or firework-themed decorations
  • Optional: cupcake toppers (stars, flags, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Divide batter into three bowls and tint one red, one blue, and leave one plain (white).
  7. Spoon small amounts of each color into the cupcake liners to create a layered or swirled effect.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
  9. Frost with vanilla buttercream and decorate with sprinkles, colored sugar, and themed toppers.
